How much do the beauty and technology that surround the citizens of the western world make us forget about the misery in the world? This piece places the user in the role of the artist, giving him or her a brush to paint in the air. A beautiful painiting will appear on the screen as the user goes on. The painting is indeed the manipulation of an actual photography. A photograph of a wounded kid in the war, a bloody man beaten by the police... A reflection of what lies behind the technology and beauty of our advanced world. The fact is that it doesn't seem to matter to us anymore. People would just keep painting...

This installation was displayed in the ITP SHOW, Fall 04. The users where given a brush with a light inside. In front of the plasma screen, they would move the brush on the air, in the scope of the camera, to paint on the plasma screen. A C application manipulated an actual photograph to make it appear as a painting as the user moved the brush. The content of the photograph was always of a situation of social injustice and war.
